William "Bill" Darryl Sweeney

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather due to complications from COPD. After a lengthy and courageous battle, he passed peacefully at the age of 77. Bill is predeceased by his parents, David & Sharon; brother, Dennis; nephew Mackenzie; his parents-in-law, Tony & Anne Deck and brother-in-law, Gordon.

Bill leaves to mourn his wife, Marie Ann of 45 years; their children, Calvin Mason (Doug), Christine Ring (Art) and children Dakota, Hana, Declan; Corey Mason (Loralee) and children Allison and Leah; brothers, Keith Sweeney (Elaine) and Terry Sweeney (Bev); sister, Debbie Wiest (Pat); brother-in-law, Brian Deck (Mary Lou); extended family members, Trish (Bill), Craig (Joyce) and Dave; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.

Bill took great pride in his position as foreman in the lumber industry. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, cruising and his beloved Saskatchewan Roughriders. Bill adored his children and grandchildren and retired to Alberta to be closer to them. In retirement, he enjoyed reading, driving school bus and loved watching his grandchildren participate in sports and activities.

At Bill’s request, there will be no formal service. The family will be holding a small, private gathering to celebrate his life, at a later date, in Saskatchewan.
