Violet Stenger passed away on August 1st, 2022, at the age of 87 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Joe Stenger; sons, Gerald (Renetta) Otto, Harlow Otto (Lori Andreachuk), Clifford (Val) Otto; daughters, Dolores Otto-Moreno, Marilyn (John) Dunn, Sheila (Colin) Clark; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother, Leonard Lentz; sister Marlene (Wayne) Moreton; sister-in-law, Hannelora Lentz; Joe’s sisters, Mary Dell and Velma (Tom) Impey; Joe’s sons, Lyle (Yvonne) Stenger, Tom (Kim) Stenger, Clifford (Jennifer) Stenger, Leonard (Cindy) Stenger and Brad (Cheryl) Stenger; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Violet was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Martha Lentz; brother, James Lentz; sisters, Esther Tisnic and Bernice Lentz (in infancy).
Violet was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta and raised in the Newburg district. She attended school at the Concordian School in the Newburg district. Violet enjoyed cooking, baking, puzzles, crosswords, music and dancing in her retirement years when she met Joe. Violet was very involved in her church and read her bible for daily inspiration. She also liked entertaining and traveling. In the earlier years, she worked on the farm, running equipment, milking cows and raising the kids. She enjoyed the busy farm life and worked hard at it. She also met lots of good friends.
The family would like to send a special thank-you to the staff to St. Joseph’s Home in Medicine Hat, home care and healthcare aids as well as Deb Lentz. The family would also like to thank Joe for his dedicated love and care that brought Violet much comfort and happiness.
A private family Interment will be held on Thursday, August 11th, 2022. Donations in Violet’s memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Home by visiting www.covenanthealth.ca.
