Victor Marion Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Victor Marion on March 18th, 2023, at the age of 77 years. Victor went peacefully after years of health issues. He was a devoted husband for 55 years to Diana (Gehring); children, Felicia (Guy) and Shawn (Anita); grandkids, Keanna (Lindon), Rieley and Marissa, Charlie, Brian (Shelby); great grandchildren, Paisley and Lovell.

Victor owned/operated the Lancer store for many years with Diana before moving the family to Medicine Hat in 1980. In those years, he was the Hardware Manager at Canadian Tire, which took him and Diana to Kindersley and then Gainsborough, SK, before settling back to Medicine Hat. Once back, Victor went on to manage Home Hardware until retirement. For a few years after retirement, he drove school bus in Medicine Hat as well as in Lancer. While living in Lancer, Victor was very involved with Knights of Columbus, hockey, hunting and fishing. He also loved photography. Closer to retirement, he also enjoyed golf and wood working in his garage. Victor really had the artistic touch, starting with photography, then wood working and once he moved into the care home, he tried his hand at painting and drawing. He enjoyed the outdoors, taking the family on numerous camping/fishing trips. Victor was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Francis Marianovits; mother/father-in-law, Emil and Mary Gehring; infant son, Trent. Victor being the youngest of 4 children, was also the last to join them in a glorious family reunion. Many thanks to Dr. Ahmad and Dr. Azam and all his caring staff that worked so hard keeping dad healthy, the doctors and nurses at 4W for the wonderful care they gave dad, his caring second home at South Country Village for all their companionship and assistance and the utmost thank you to St. Joseph’s for the care and compassion for just not dad but our whole family….it was truly appreciated.
