Sylvia Kozak passed away on July 21st, 2026, at the age of 76 years. Sylvia was born in Camrose, AB and raised in the Red Deer, AB area. She joined the military at a young age, served over 20 years and reached the rank of Sergeant. For the last 31 years she was a member of the Volkssport Club of Medicine Hat and recently achieved a 70,000km lifetime distance award. When not walking, she enjoyed reading and watching cooking shows on TV.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Douglas (Kelly) Kozak and Bobby (Kerry) Kozak; daughter, Tracy Kinch; grandchildren, Leo, Brian, Patrick, Maxwell, Hailey and Ella; brothers, Bruce (Rhonda) and Ken (Sherryl); sisters, Pearl (Bill) Brady, Doreen (Don) Zaborsky, Carol Peterson, Isabel Johnstone (Cheryl Burdinsky); sister-in-law, Pat Johnstone; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat, Fancy. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband, Hank Kozak; brother, Wilfred Johnstone; brother-in-law, Murray Peterson; Allen Mackenzie, Brittany Brady.
No formal service will be held.
