At the age of 82, Steve passed away in Medicine Hat, Alberta, the city he proudly called home since arriving from Croatia in 1973.
A carpenter by trade and a craftsman at heart, he spent his life building not only with wood, but with kindness and care. Every project he touched carried his dedication and steady hand.
Though he never married or had children, Steve lived a rich and meaningful life surrounded by my family and many friends who loved him dearly. To me, he was more than an uncle—he was my mentor, my hero, my best friend. His wisdom, humour, and good heart were constants in my life, and the example he set will guide me forever.
He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and love. Those lucky enough to know him will carry his memory with them always.
Rest peacefully. You were truly one of a kind.
