Stanley "Stan" Albert Polnicky

Stanley Albert Polnicky went to be with his with Lord and saviour peacefully on August 5th, 2023, surrounded by his family at Riverview Care Home. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Polnicky; daughters, Roxanne Andal (Doug), Laurie Melnyk; son, Jason Polnicky (Joanie). Stan leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Ashley (Chris), Zachary (Marley), Jordan, Josh, Jasmine; great grandchildren, Charlie and Rhys; as well as brother-in-law, Al (Laina); niece, Jessica and George (Line); nephew, Marc; extended family. 

Stan was born in Oliver, BC but was raised on a farm in southeast Saskatchewan before moving to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to raise a family of his own. 

Stan and Ruth moved to Medicine Hat to enjoy their retirement in a milder climate. 

Stan was happiest enjoying the great outdoors with friends and family while camping, fishing, canoeing, hunting and even gardening in the backyard.  

Although he enjoyed his privacy and personal space, everyone around him appreciated his quiet, gentle mannerisms.  

His quiet crazy sense of humour was enjoyed by all. Stan was a dependable person who was always willing to help wherever and whenever it was needed. 

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the Riverview staff for their kind, compassionate and professional care over the years, as well as the many friends and family who have expressed their sympathies and shared their lives with Stan.
