Sean Foley

It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of (Joshua) Sean Flynn Foley on September 10th, 2025, at the young age of 31, in Medicine Hat, AB.

Sean was born in St. John’s, NL and raised in Lewin’s Cove, NL and Medicine Hat, AB.

He graduated from Trinity College School in Port Hope, ON, and attended St. FX in Antigonish, NS, followed by Medicine Hat College, where he graduated from the paramedic program.

Those that knew Sean will remember him by his kind and gentle spirit, his love of learning, his intelligence, and his intense loyalty to his loved ones. We will remember Sean’s thoughtfulness, generosity, how he always made us laugh, and how he gave the most unexpected and wonderful gifts.

Sean lived a full life with an open heart. He was a caring person and loved to help others. These traits led to his career as a paramedic, where he found tremendous fulfillment and joy. He had many meaningful friendships, played sports such as football, rugby, hockey, and longboarding, travelled, and spent many happy moments with his loved ones. His family and friends are so proud of all he accomplished in his short time with us and will forever cherish the happy memories we have with him.

He will be deeply missed by his mother, Rita Flynn; father, Joshua Foley; sisters, Olwyn and Rhian; other dear family members; and close friends in Newfoundland who were like family to him.

A private service will be held in Newfoundland at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Sean’s family ask that those who would like to honour Sean do an act of kindness in his memory or donate to a local first responders' organization.

Sean, we will miss you dearly. May you rest in peace. Slán go fóill.
