Robert "Bobby" Prest

Robert Clark Prest (Bobby) passed away peacefully at the Bow Island Health Centre at the age of 77 on March 1st, 2021. A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date at Bobby’s Bar & Restaurant. You can follow us on Facebook for upcoming info.

Bobby was born May 14th, 1943 in Mooseland, Nova Scotia where he was baptized at St. Thomas Anglican Church. Bobby married Velma (Dunlap) August 28, 1965 to which they had 3 children, son, Chris; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Welsh (predeceased); grandsons, Dylan, Jessie and Matthew; son, Jeff Prest; daughter, Jean (Brad Lowe) Hodgson; granddaughter, Breena; grandson, Michael. Bobby extended his family after moving to Bow Island adopting with his heart and soul, Char Rossé; grandsons, Kieran and Landon Rossé (Clinton Massong).

Bobby worked in the logging industry in Nova Scotia with family and continued to work in the logging industry after moving to Port McNeill, B.C., where he also ran the community movie theatre.

In 1992 Bob & Velma settled into the small, tight net community of Bow Island where he opened up O’Henry’s with his brother, Henry. Eventually becoming soul owner of Bobby’s Bar & Restaurant. Bobby enjoyed bowling, camping, playing crib & horseshoes as well as golfing. Bobby was always proud to share his stories of his many years in the forest industry as a logger.

Bobby is survived by his sister, Shirley (Merideth) Monroe of Dartmouth, N.S; sister, Patricia (Kenneth) Graham of Port Moody, B.C; brother, John of Prince George, B.C.; brother, Gerald of Mooseland, N.S.; sister-in-law, Linda (Micheal) Prest of Campbell River, B.C.

Bobby is predeceased by his parents, Harry (Clark) and Jean Francis Prest of Mooseland, N.S.; sister, Viola (Gerald Cloutier) Prest of Montreal, Quebec; brother, Henry (Elsie) Prest of White Rock, B.C.; brother, Michael of Port McNeill, B.C.
