Peter was born September 5th, 1947, to Werner Schmauke and Lucy Grabowski in Germany. His family moved to Canada in 1954, finally settling in Medicine Hat. Peter attended Elm Street School with his sister, Barbara. His home on Elm Street still stands. Peter was a free spirit and traveled a lot. He once hitch-hiked across Canada and even worked with a crew laying railway track in interior British Columbia for a season. Peter has lived in California, and later moved to Portland, Oregon. He was active in a medieval club where he wore armor and competed in hand-to-hand combat. He became chief cook of his group for many years. He retired in Edmonton, and later moved to Bow Island. Peter loved events where many small children were happily playing. This lead him to investigate the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was baptized 2016. Peter was predeceased by his father, mother, and sister. He left a lasting impression on his friends and will be long remembered.
Celebration of life will be held on October 19, 2024 @ 10:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bow Island (309 Westview Cres).
