Patricia "Pat" Smith Obituary
Pat Smith passed away on January 21st, 2026, at the age of 84 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Dianne Calbick and Jodi (Edward) Lock; grandchildren, Sierra (Forrest), Stevan and Shaun (Alivea); brother, Paul (Sylvia) Heinbecker; grandson, Adam (Melanie) Smith and their children, Jada, Vienna, Slade and Zurich. Pat was predeceased by her husband, Albert Smith; son, John; daughter, Shirley; brothers, Larry Heinbecker and David Heinbecker; grandson, Stephen.
Pat was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. She moved to Beaverlodge, AB in the early 1970’s and to Medicine Hat, AB in 2006 for the warmer climate and active seniors’ community. Pat received her horticulture degree from the University of Guelph in 1986, after which she ran a landscape maintenance company for many years before retiring. Pat enjoyed RVing around Western Canada, needlework and enjoyed learning new things throughout her life, gardening, take care of plants and animals of all kinds. She loved children and spending time with her family. Pat also volunteered for many different community events and a variety of organizations over the years.
No formal service will be held. Donations in Pat’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society by visiting www.alzheimer.ca.
