Oswin Fikus Obituary
“A Heart that touched many”
Oswin passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Nursing Home on December 15th, 2025. Beloved husband of Rose Mary Fikus, he leaves behind 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
When Oswin retired, he enjoyed traveling east to visit his dear relatives. He especially loved going to the Okanagan Valley in the summer. He cherished his large assortment of beautiful flowers that he planted each year on his patio.
We would like to thank the MHDH staff on 2 north and Sunnyside for their compassionate care of Oswin in his final days. We thank: Dr. B. Filanti, Dr. W. Jans D.C, Ashton Crawford DD for their medical care; Father Myles and volunteers for their spiritual support; all of Oswin’s friends, young and old, who brought much joy and laughter to his life; dear Heinz and Val Fikus for their hospitality, kindness and compassion.
As per Oswin’s wishes, there will be no service. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. Those who wish to remember Oswin’s memory with a donation may do so to CNIB or a charity of ones’ choice.
