It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Mary Anne Harris (nee Mitchell) on November 25, 2024, at the age of 83. Mary passed away peacefully after a short battle with lung cancer. She was pre-deceased by her son, Rob; daughter, Karen; and husband, Bob; all whom she knew she would be seeing soon and that faith helped her through the past few months. She will be forever so fondly remembered by her family, daughter, Roxanne (Kelly); son in law, Dennis; grandchildren, Mitchell (Tanis), Michael (Sharmaine), Stephanie, Michelle (Travis) and Nicole (Josh); and her cherished great-grandchildren, Easton, Sophia, Kinsley and Hayden and Baby S (due in June). She will always be remembered for her incredible spirit, love of animals and her unwavering commitment to family. She is now at peace to finally be reunited with her two children who were taken far too soon, husband and so many loved family members.
Mary was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario and moved to Medicine Hat with her family in 1974.
She was lucky and thankful to have the love of not only her family but many friends who helped her on her journey these past years. A special thank you to Medicine Hat palliative home care team and each and every staff member at St Joseph’s for the wonderful care and compassion provided to her. At her request, there will not be a funeral service.
