Mark Clement Barrone

Mark Clement Barrone was born in Big River Saskatchewan on June 17, 1960, and passed away at St. Joseph’s Carmel Hospice, Thursday, March 27th in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

Mark was predeceased by his brothers, Kreigh and Floyd; his sisters, Theresa and Amanda; niece, Maren and his parents Bernadette and Walter Barrone. 

Mark is survived by his three sons, Eric, Michael and Jesse; his daughter, Sarah and their mother, Peggy. Mark is also survived by his sisters, Myrt (Edward) and Tammy; his brothers, Curtis (Maryanne) and Guy; as well as numerous extended relatives and his landlady, Lynda.

Mark liked to keep busy, he was a hard worker trying his hand at various jobs in his lifetime, he was always ready to help others with a project. Mark was easygoing, kind and compassionate. He endured many hardships throughout his life, yet he was resilient. He faced these challenges through his faith, the support of his family, friends and his AA and AC families. He enjoyed all things nature, going for drives out to Elkwater, going on walks, gardening and watching nature shows. He also enjoyed just getting together with family to play a board game or watch a good horror flick with the kids, as he loved them dearly.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff at St. Joseph’s Carmel Hospice for their exceptional care, Mark found the hospice such a peaceful place to stay, taking comfort in the care the staff provided and he had some good laughs with staff, he enjoyed walking in the garden, visits from pastoral care and his visit from Stella made his day. The family would also like to thank the staff at Marjory E. Yuill Cancer Centre, Home Care/Palliative Care and CBI companions for the excellent care Mark received the past couple years.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Mark on April 12, 2025, from 2-4pm at the Alano Club (466 Macleod Trail SE, Medicine Hat) for any of his extended family and friends. A private interment service will be held for immediate family members.
