Margaret Hadassah Schacher

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Aunt, Great Aunt, Grandma, Great Grandma, and Great Great Grandma. Margaret Hadassha Schacher (Muggs) passed away on September 11, 2024, at the age of 93 years. She is survived by her children, Bev Stuber, Jack Schacher (Lois), Dixie Egan (Francis), Daryl Schacher (Zoia); 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; 1 sister, Marie Reeves; as well as numerous nieces and nephews that she treasured.

Mom was predeceased by her grandson, Dean Stuber (1988); her son, Barry Schacher (2010); and her son-in-law, Stan Stuber (2024). She was a stay-at-home mom until 1981 when she went to Medicine Hat College to upgrade her grade 12 and passed with university honors. She then entered the Early Childhood Education program. Upon completion, she went to work for Lawson’s Children Center in 1984. Mom loved children and it showed as she retired at age 75. In December of 2020 she moved into the Pleasant View Lodge in Bow Island where she made many new friends. She loved living at Pleasant View Lodge. Mom was a lifelong member of The Women of the Moose and also a member of the Legion. If you desire, contributions may be made in memory of Muggs to Pleasant View Lodge Ladies Auxiliary.

A private family graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery.
