Margaret Mary (Weir) Anderson

Margaret Mary (Weir) Anderson entered into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on August 18, 2024 at 98 years of age. She was born July 13, 1926 in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan and grew up on the Bench south of Piapot where she attended Star Butte school. Margaret continued her education through correspondence and one year at Shaunavon. Following High School, Margaret worked at various jobs including Henry’s Bakery, Tidies Grocery Store and as a Telephone Operator. On July 6, 1951, Margaret married Bruce Leslie Anderson whom she loved dearly and shared in the life of his little girl Louise. Their family grew with the birth of four children: Jeanne, Ross, Ray and Jamie. They ranched Southwest of Maple Creek and experienced trials, tribulations, sorrows and above all, great joy. Margaret was an avid reader, loved poetry, had a passion for scripture, an artistic flare, and was a woman of great faith. She helped raise her grandson Bruce and shared in the care of her ailing mother. Margaret Mary was predeceased by her father James Cameron Weir in 1952; her mother, Bertha (Warner) Weir in 1984; an infant sister at birth; her brother, James William Weir in 1985; her sister, Wilma Jean (Weir) Forbes in 1992; her sons, Ray Cameron Anderson and James Charles Anderson in 1980, and her husband, Bruce Leslie Anderson in 2015. Margaret is survived by her children, Louise (Marvin) Wiens, Jeanne (Dale) Christie and Ross (Cammie) Anderson; grandchildren, Stacey (Karla) Wiens, Shelly (Mark) Mitchell, Shannon (Jason) Keller, Shawn (Jessica) Christie, Corban (Megan) Christie, Bruce (Susan) Anderson, Sheena (Daric) Pirlot, Shay (Echo) Anderson and Bret (Patricia) Anderson; and her brother-in-law, Elmer Forbes. She left many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and relatives to cherish her memory. In 2022, Margaret moved into the Cypress Lodge Assisted Living facility and then into Long-term care until her passing.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 2:00PM at the Maple Creek Family Church.
