Leonard "Len" Jupe Obituary

Leonard “Len” Jupe passed away on June 29, 2026, at the age of 90 years. He is survived by his wife, Vera (nee Kayfish); sons, Byron (Sonya), Randy (Allesandra) and Calvin (Dani); daughters, Corinne Johnson and Charlene (Brent) Ahrens; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Bishop; sister-in-law, Diane Jupe; and brother-in-law, Lorne Kayfish.

Len was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Linda; brothers, Willard, Freddie, Elmer and Richard; and sisters, Myrtle Sharp-O’Brien and Rose Scribner.

Dad will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and for the strong work ethic that defined his life. He spent more than six decades working in the oil patch in Coleville and Kindersley, Saskatchewan areas before retiring in Medicine Hat to be near family in 2017. He then took the time to enjoy travelling with family to some tropical destinations and adventures in the mountains.

Mom and Dad met in 1958 in their hometown of Leask, Saskatchewan and married in 1961. Dad shared 65 years of marriage with Mom, a partnership built on love, commitment, and devotion. His greatest pride was always his family. His steady support, encouragement, and sense of humor (he could always make us laugh) will be deeply missed and forever cherished. He also had a special bond with all our pets as he was kind and loving towards all animals.

Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Home Care Team, Palliative Care visits, and the medical staff at St. Joseph's Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat for the exceptional care and compassion they provided Dad. Their kindness and support brought comfort to him and to our family, and we will always be grateful.

For anyone who knew our Dad will understand:

"Going on up to that tractor in the sky--that's where I'm gonna go when I die."

There will be a memorial at a future date as his final resting place is in Leask, Saskatchewan
