Kenneth Dale Mackay

The family of Kenneth (Dale) Mackay unfortunately and with profound sadness announce his passing at the age of 93, just 29 days after his beloved wife of 74 years, Virginia Mackay.

 Dale was predeceased by his son, Colin; granddaughter, Marceya; daughter, Teresa; as well as his brother, two sisters and parents (George and Margaret Mackay)

Dale worked for the Northwest Nitro Chemical Plant then got his dream job with the town of Redcliff. He was a Forman for many years until retirement and did it with so much pride.

Dale was a very kind, gentle soul. He always showed his 7 children, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren that he absolutely loved us just by smiling and being goofy. He sure knew how to have fun. If there was a toddler or baby around, he was making faces at them so they would make faces back or just smile at him.

Virginia and Dale are together for all eternity. Their family will be forever grateful for their love story together. They were our inspiration to find a love like theirs.

The nurses, Francis and Rachel at MHRH on 5 west were in awe of how gentle he was. Our family would like to thank them for their compassion for him and his family for those brief 3 days he was not well in the hospital. We would like to thank Dr. Scholtz and Grace Memorial for all you’ve done for both of them in the last month.

Dale will be missed more than he would’ve ever realized.
