Kelly McMullen Obituary

Kelly Rae McMullen, beloved wife of Orran McMullen passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the age of 68 years.

Kelly is survived by her husband, Orran; children, Jesse Hleucka, Justin Hleucka, Kallen (Britany) McMullen and grandson Kayden (Hannah) Hleucka; Orran’s two sons Ryan McMullen and Dale McMullen. She is also survived by her mother, Norma Zobell; brother, Monte (Laurie) Zobell; and sister, Jody (James) Evanson. She will be missed by numerous other extended family and friends.  She was predeceased by her father, Burt Zobell; sister, Dani Brown and in-laws Fraser and Ruth McMullen.  Also, Orran’s brothers, Erroll McMullen and Roy McMullen.

Kelly was born to Burt and Norma (nee’ Cook) Zobell in Raymond on April 30, 1957. She was raised in Raymond, Magrath and Vauxhall. She attended the Lethbridge Community College taking Business Administration.

Kelly was the mother of boys, Jesse and Justin. Then she met the love of her life, Orran McMullen and they were married on June 28, 1985.

They welcomed another son, Kallen, into the family and with Orran’s two boys, Ryan and Dale, they became a happy and busy blended family. Her special grandson, Kayden was the next boy to join the family.

Kelly worked for the Medicine Hat regional hospital in accounts payable for over 30 years.  She also worked for Aecon Transportation West before retiring in 2023.  She loved her family, ice cream, telling stories, laughing and especially loved watching every baseball, hockey, and football game. She would never miss a game for her sons or grandson Kayden.  She was always cheering the loudest and was their biggest fan.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 2:00 pm, at Higdon Hall (2055 21 Ave. S.E, Medicine Hat). A private family burial service will be held prior to the celebration of life at Hillside Cemetery.
