Karen Michelle Dey

Karen Dey passed away on February 24th, 2022, at the age of 50 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Christel (Ian) Lockie; beloved son, Matthew Lane; sister, Benita (Andy) Bernath; nieces, Becky Bernath, Kristen (Aaron) Hoimyr and their children, Abrielle and Adalynn Hoimyr; father of Matthew, Derek Lane.

Karen was predeceased by her father, Gustav Dey; brother, René Dey.

Karen was born in Swift Current, SK on January 6th, 1972 and raised in Medicine Hat, AB. She graduated from CHHS in 1990 and then graduated as a Nurses Aid and worked with the elderly. She enjoyed diamond painting, crocheting and spending time with her grandsons and great nieces. She loved camping and fishing and had a fondness for Newfoundland cuisine. Karen attended First Assembly of God her entire life. She loved Jesus with all her heart. Karen will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022, at First Assembly of God Church at 1:00pm with Pastor Lyle Berg officiating. An interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Donations in Karen’s name may be made to the Salvation Army or Medicine Hat and District Food Bank.
