It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of June Faye LaDuke who passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on August 24th, 2021, she was 79.
June was born in Bassano, Alberta and met the love of her life, Kevin LaDuke in Calgary. Kevin and June lived the majority of their life in Calgary, raising their family, then moved to Medicine Hat in their later years to enjoy a quieter pace of life.
June loved gardening, fishing, cooking and spending time with her family. Her joy of cooking and gardening is a legacy she passed on through the generations. Nobody could beat her potato salad, her cabbage rolls and all things her and Kevin pickled! You could always count on her to make an angel food cake for your birthday, with fresh strawberries & REAL whip cream on top, and you could never miss her many Grand Puppies at her feet in the kitchen when it came time to cook a meal.
One of June’s favorite things to do was to squeeze herself, her Mom Irene and Kevin into the little old truck and head out to Chain Lakes for a great day of fishing. Kevin and June loved going for long drives to enjoy the scenery and find a place to stop for a snack. It is hard to believe that they had just celebrated their 60th Anniversary in May with their family.
June will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Kevin; her children, Mark (Michele), Courie (Karen), Cheryl Cole (Brian) Dolores; her 5 Grandchildren, Brad, Lisa, Trevor, Colton & Kiana; her sister, Joyce Emerson; nephew, Dan Currie (Darlene) and numerous other nieces and nephews so dear to her heart!
June was predeceased by her mother, Irene and father, Art Currie and her sister, Marlene Wych.
A celebration of June’s life will be held at The Hamptons Inn & Suites, 2510 Boxsprings Blvd, Medicine Hat, Alberta on Friday, September 3rd, 2021, at 1:00pm.
