It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of John “Chip” Wood who passed away on April 17th, 2024. Chip was a member of the British Military stationed at BATUS. It was whilst in Canada that he met the love of his life, Fay. He immigrated to Canada and married Fay and they made their lives in Redcliff. After the Military, Chip worked in construction for many years and became a master roofer. Chip loved to tell stories about his life in the Military and all his different antics over the years. He was definitely the master of storytelling. Chip was predeceased by his wife, Fay; his parents, Molly and George; as well as his brother and sister. Chip is survived by his aunt, Kathleen Underwood of the UK; his Canadian family, Jane and Steve Blowes, their daughter Tara (Mark) Fennell and their children Nikki (Jake) and Hunter. He will be missed by his very best friends, Jim Morrison and Randy MacDonald. We would like to thank Jami at Margery E Yuill Cancer Center and the staff at St Joseph’s Carmel Hospice for their compassion and caring.
No formal service will be held.
