John Elgin Lynn

John Lynn, of Medicine Hat, Alberta, passed away on October 13th, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born in Palmerston, ON. The greatest joy of his life was his family. He was a beloved husband, father, granddad, and great granddad. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joyce Melbourn-Lynn; sons, John Lynn, Kevin Lynn, Randy Lynn, Ted Lynn, and Larry Lynn; daughters Lori Sawchuk and Wendy Desforges; stepdaughter, Mandy Herter; stepson, Christopher Tiebs; 11 grandchildren; 2 step-granddaughters; and 9 great grandchildren. John was predeceased by his parents, Elgin and Gladys Lynn, and his sister, Grace Peters.

His favorite days were spent with a fishing rod in his hand, not so patiently waiting for a bite. He found great joy in a good card game—especially when he won. His dogs were his loyal sidekicks, always by his side, sharing his everyday adventures and his snacks. He was our family’s dependable chauffeur, always ready to drop what he was doing to drive us wherever we needed to go, no matter the distance or the time. His journey here may have ended, but his legacy of kindness will continue to drive us all.
