John Larose Obituary

John passed away on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023, with his family by his side at the age of 95 years.

 

John was born in St. Henri, Quebec on January 26th, 1927, and moved out west at the age of two. He married Bernadette Kress on October 30th, 1950 and have celebrated 72 years together.

 

John was a mechanic, farmer, worked in the oilpatch, rolled into the tire business which he sold to his son Garry, and retired at the age of 65. John and Bernie moved to Medicine Hat in 1993. John celebrated 47 years of sobriety.

 

John loved hunting, especially with his sons. They would go up north to camp which they named J.P. Larose & Sons Swamp Donkey Camp – Est 1974. His other interests were baseball, cards, going to the casino, and he was a member of the Shaunavon Wildlife for over 50 years.

 

John is survived by his wife, Bernadette; sons, Maurice (Connie), Garry (Wanda), Guy (Carol); daughter, Shannon (Kelven); 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Fernande, Julie, and Alice; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

John was predeceased by his son, Richard (1973); parents; 7 sisters; and 4 brothers.

 

A private family graveside will be held in the Spring.
