Janet Mitstifer Obituary
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Janet Mitstifer on October 30, 2025 at the age of 89 years.
Janet grew up on a farm near Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. She attended Royal Edwards School, and later Maple Creek Composite High School. Janet was the organist at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Maple Creek during her teenage years. Janet moved to Calgary after graduation and then worked for Great West Life Insurance. She then moved to Spokane, Washington, USA and married Jerry Mitstifer. They had 2 sons, Jeffery and Jason. They later moved to Seattle where she worked for Sears and Peter’s Creek Nursing Home.
Janet was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Anne Drefs; brother, Danny Drefs; sister, Joyce MacDonald (Allan MacDonald, and nephew, Bradford MacDonald).
Janet leaves behind her 2 sons, Jeffery and Jason; and her sister, Jean Anne Matthews (Barry Matthews).
We hold love in our hearts forever for Janet. May she Rest in Peace.
Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery.
