Jim Prosofsky passed away on May 31st, 2023, at the age of 78 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Patricia Prosofsky; son, Jason (Teresa) Prosofsky; daughter, Kory (Andy) Bell; grandchildren, Marek, Jackson, Hayden, Brett, Drew and Bradley; brother, Jeff Prosofsky; sisters, Julie (Tom) Samoila and June Prosofsky; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his brother, Joseph; sisters, Joy, Joan and Jan.
Jim was born in Brandon, Manitoba and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. He spent most of his work life working in the oil and gas industry. He was away from home for long periods of time, but when he was home, he spent his time playing hockey, fussing with cars, and cooking. He had a big heart behind his tough facade. Everyone else came before he did. He was full of mischief and often played on the edge. It was a good thing he had nine lives. In 2008, he suffered a stroke and had to live with physical disability which didn’t stop him from maintaining his stubborn independence. He spent the remainder of his time watching his grandchildren grow, attending hockey games, and watching TV.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hampton Inn & Suites (2510 Box Springs Blvd NW) on June 4th, 2023, from 1:00pm – 4:00pm.
