James Costar Obituary
It is with great sadness that Brina, Dane, and Landon announce the passing of their father, James Robert Costar on September 9, 2025, at the age of 75. His memory will be cherished by his children, Landon (Rebecca), Dane, Brina (Ian Corbett); grandchildren, Carsen, Masen, Gabriel, Emersen Corbett, and Olive, Esme Costar; his sisters, Caroline (Eric) Elle and family, Trina Costar, Lynn Costar, her daughter, McKenzie; and the mother of his children, Linda Costar.
Jim loved his children and grandchildren very much and enjoyed sharing his passion for rocks, crystals, gems and fossils with them. As a young father, he instilled his love of dinosaurs and fossils with his children on their many local expeditions searching for fossils.
Jim is finally pain free and has been reunited with his beloved daughter Brandi in heaven.
A private family service will be held.
Memorial gifts in Jim’s memory may be made to the Brandi Costar Endowment Memorial scholarship at SAIT.
