Hugh Ross Geddes

Hugh Ross Geddes, of Red Deer Alberta, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the age of 74 years.

Hugh was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and grew up in Conquerville until he was 11 years old, when his family moved back to Medicine Hat. Over the years, he worked a variety of sales jobs and spent time working in the oil field.

Hugh made his home in Redcliff, Alberta, where he raised his four children alongside Joanne Geddes. After living in Redcliff, Hugh moved back to Medicine Hat, and later settled in Red Deer, where he lived until his passing. He enjoyed cooking and spending time fishing over the years.

He leaves behind his children, Ross Geddes (Courtney Warken), Crystal Geddes (Chad Martin), Sara Reimer (Ryan), Mac Geddes (Ashlee); his nine grandchildren, RJ, Burton, Kendyl, Tuff, Ty, Jackson, Kyler, Owen, and Emmett; as well as his siblings Larry (Anita) Geddes, Diane (Robin) Simpson, and Karen Geddes.

Hugh was predeceased by his parents, Michael Ross Geddes and Dorothy Elizabeth Geddes.

He will be remembered by those who knew him in their own way.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to those who have helped care for him over the past years.

A come and go tea will be held on Monday, May 5th, 2025, at 3:00pm at the Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds Social Room (39 10th St NE). Interment will take place at Redcliff Cemetery at 2:00pm.
