George Friesen passed away on July 2nd at the age of 72 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Robert (Leanne), Bryan (Naomi), Chris (Stephanie) and Ethan (Laura); grandchildren, Natalie, Kaitlyn, Adam, Andrew, Grace, Alyssa, Kristen, Carter, Liam, Sawyer, Bennett, Vivian, Sophia and Adeline; mother of his children, Marie Fombe; brothers, John (Alice), Dave, Abe (Susan), Pete and Jake (Susan); sisters, Jessie Teichroeb, Tina (John) Driedger, Helen (Danny) Giesbrecht and Sue (Neil) Wolfe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
George was predeceased by his parents, Gerhard and Aganetha Friesen; brother, Neil.
George was born in Madera, Mexico. He spent his childhood days in Mexico until moving to Ontario with his family, then eventually settling in Alberta. He was a mechanic by trade and loved machines of all kinds, the outdoors and growing gardens.
A private family service will be held.
