It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Garry Brown on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025, at the age of 68 years after a short courageous battle with cancer. Garry was a beloved father, husband, grandfather and friend whose generosity, kindness and gentle spirit touched everyone he met. He was appreciated for his dedication to his family, humor, his integrity and humility.
Garry leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Tammy Brown; two sons, Robert Brown (Trista Hindes) and Colton Brown plus two amazing, charismatic granddaughters, Brynlee and Brooklyn Brown; as well as numerous family, friends and loved ones. Garry was born in Swift Current, SK on March 16th, 1957, to Anna Brown.
Garry’s infectious joy, humor and welcoming spirit drew so many people to him. He was loyal, honest and humble. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and outdoor adventures. His memory will continue to flourish in every sunrise over his favourite lake, in every shared story around a campfire and in each kind act we now extend to others in his name. His greatest gift was his warmth, his unwavering presence in both good times and tough, and his habit of brightening any room with a kind word or joke. He lived a life rich in meaning: guided by compassion, driven by curiosity and defined by a genuine connection to others whether fishing his favourite lake, sharing meals with family, or cheering on his granddaughters, he embraced life with open arms. He was an amazing man who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Garry’s life will be held at a July 19th, 2025. Friends and family are invited to join in honouring his memory at that time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Centre.
