Douglas "Doug" Thorn Obituary
It is with great sadness to announce the death of Douglas Eldon Thorn.
Doug passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday May 2nd, 2025, at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.
He was born May 20th, 1944, in Moosomin SK, the son of Eldon and Mildred and brother to Crawford (Rose). Doug was a loving husband to Diana for 56 years.
A devoted father to De-Ann and Daryl (Kristie) and grandfather to Colton, Anna and Amelia. He was also a wonderful brother-in-law, uncle and friend.
Throughout his life Doug was always willing to lend a helping hand and enjoyed getting together with family and friends for a spirited game of cards.
Doug had a love of gardening passed down from his father, Eldon and spent many hours enjoying his spacious yard in Moosomin. Bowling was one of Doug's favorite sports, he and Diana were very active in their local league. Doug and Diana retired to Medicine Hat in 2016 to be closer to family.
A private family service will be held at a later date at his burial site in Fleming.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and doctors in the ICU at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for the compassion and care they extended to Doug and the family.
