Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Cornelius and Erie Van Ieperen; her birth mother, Christine Matichuk; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Margaret (Dave) Green, Jim (Mary) Reesor, Joe (Marion) Reesor, Bob (Jean) Reesor, Merle (Mervin) McLuhan; her grandson, Kade; and special nephews Todd, Dwayne & Garth.

Dorothy Marie Van Ieperen Reesor was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to Christine Matichuk and named Ninette on August 2, 1940. Her adoptive parents, Cornelius & Erie Van Ieperen named her Dorothy. Dorothy & Maurice grew up along Battle Creek. She attended school in Consul, Rolling Hills, Herbert, and then back to Consul. She worked as a nurse's aide in Maple Creek before she was married. She often talked about going into the church, where her father was the pastor, at a very young age to play the organ/piano. Dorothy was an amazing pianist and played by ear. She definitely had a beautiful musical gift. Even in 2022 she could still play by ear and it was a great enjoyment to her and to us. Although her skills declined in later months, she still retained her beautiful musical gift.

Dorothy married Ron Reesor on October 4, 1957, in the Consul Church of God. Together they raised their three sons and three daughters. They began their married life in the bunkhouse on the Reesor farm. They moved and started farming in the Little West district. Then they moved to Frontier, Saskatchewan, where Ron assumed the role of caretaking the rink, and then back to Little West in the springtime.

In 1965 they moved to Consul, five years later they moved out to the farm where Dorothy grew up, on Battle Creek. They farmed there until she moved to Medicine Hat.

We know her recent years weren't the best, but our memories of her will be of an energetic, vivacious, wry humoured and intelligent woman, who loved to visit, play the piano, sew and create crafts. Dorothy's legacy is her children and her descendants whose lives are and will continue to be an asset and blessings to their families, colleagues, friends and communities.

 We love you.

A celebration of Dorothy's life is planned for January 14, 2023, at 2 PM in the community hall in Consul, Saskatchewan. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to the charity of one's choice.
