It is with profound sadness the family of David Smith announce his passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on June 19, 2024, at the age of 72 years. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Perry Smith (Ciara Murphy), Marie Smith (Billy Swain) and Sharmen Smith; mother of his children, Carrie Stark; grandchildren, Shane Tirrell, Dakota Smith, Shianne Smith, Ryan Smith, Braden Swain, Makayla Swain, Aliegha Swain, Layla Swain, Zack Smith, and Angel Smith.
David was predeceased by his parents, George and Edna Smith; sister, Patricia Meyers; and daughter, Shyanne Smith.
David was born in Edmonton, AB on July 24, 1951, and adopted by George and Edna Smith. He was raised on the farm near Eckville, AB. After completing grade school, he started his working career. David enjoyed cars, especially fast ones. He loved being outside and taking in natures beauty. He had a great sense of humour and could find the bright side of anything. He was known for his knowledge of everything.
