Surrounded by his family, Dallas Gene Bewley was promoted to Glory at the age of 71 years at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.
Dallas was born in Toronto on February 13, 1952, to Evelyn and Clifton Bewley. He spent his early life “out east” and in 1973, ventured to Medicine Hat with Connie and his girls. Here, he gained employment with CP Rail where he worked for 35 years. Dallas spent much of his down time with family and friends, prioritizing meaningful conversations and making memories with anyone around him. He had a special way of making people (and dogs!) feel welcomed and important; he never skipped a beat when it came to making efforts with the stranger in the room. Dallas was gifted with a vocal range that would bring many to tears; his ability to sing was a gift from God, and Dallas faithfully and freely gave that gift to all who would listen. Many kids, old and young, were enthusiastically toured around his backyard, where he proudly displayed and meticulously maintained his garden railway. Dallas was a faithful servant; he fought his battle with cancer bravely and knew his Creator with every breath he had. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. We are assured to know that to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.
Left to cherish Dallas’ memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Connie Bewley (nee Kennedy); his daughters, Kelly Fiegal (Glen), Cindy Oulette-Desbien (Eric); mother, Evelyn Bewley and sister, Leigh Greaves (Frank); grandchildren, Derek Bewley-Bowles, Kayla Oulette (Andrew), Chandy Albers (Kurtis) and Shaye Lacasse (Darrel). He is also survived by uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great granddaughters, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Dallas was a friend to many, and we remember with fondness the happy memories he made with each of you.
Dallas was predeceased by his father, Clifton Arthur Bewley, granddaughter, Kristy Lynn Oulette, and his father and mother in-law, Maurice and Lois Kennedy.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 15th, 2023 at 10:30am @ First Assembly of God Church. Private family interment to follow. For those wishing to attend, a public visitation will be held at Grace Memorial on Thursday, September 14th, 2023 6:30pm-8:00pm.
