Crystal (Chris) Lynn Wahl (Durham)

Chris Wahl passed away peacefully Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the age of 69 years.

Chris was born in Drayton Valley Dec 3, 1953, to parents Milton and Lydia Durham. Chris had two sisters, Terry and Bonnie and stepmom, Yvonne. Chris lived much of her early years with her sister, Terry and grandparents, Walter and Marg Durham.

Chris Married Ken Wahl in 1970 and later moved with Ken and growing family to Medicine Hat in 1975. Chris had 3 children, Darren (Michelle), Kevin and Corry (Les). Her children and later grandchildren were the joy of her life. Grandchildren are Brandon, Logan, Emersyn Wahl, Drayden Wahl, Makenna and Nixon Finnie.

Chris worked at several jobs; her favorite was Deli City in Medicine Hat where she was a partner and enjoyed so many days. When the grandchildren came along, Chris’ full-time job was Grandma and she spent numerous hours helping and spending time with the grandkids. Chris also loved gardening and was an avid reader of good books.

Chris moved numerous times for Ken’s work seeing different places. Later in life, Chris and Ken had several trips to other parts of the world. Her favorite being England and Scotland, visiting numerous locations where her ancestors lived. Also, a recent trip to Hawaii with most of the family was very special to her.

The family would very much like to thank the staff at Medicine Hat Hospital for their wonderful care.

Chris will be missed very much by family and friends.

A private Celebration of Life will be held.
