She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Joan Stuber, and her in-laws, Bud and Dolly Simmons, along with her sister-in-law Patty and nephews Travis and Vince.
To mom, family was everything. It all started with her amazing, loving and supportive parents, who gave their three children all the love and care they could have asked for.
Then, in her Grade 10 year, mom and her family made the fateful move to Shaunavon, where a few years later, at the age of 17, she met the love of her life, Wayne.
Beverley proceeded to attend Garbutt Business College, which led to a job at a doctor’s office in Shaunavon in 1972. Her work life also included a stint at the Credit Union, before she moved on to the nursing home. She finished her working career as an activity worker at the Shaunavon Hospital and Care Centre, where she made valuable connections with the residents, each and every day, and played a pivotal role enriching every life she touched.
After retirement, Beverley and Wayne relocated to Medicine Hat and moved into Southview Villa. Mom immediately became a valuable member of the community, as she enjoyed calling bingo, tending to the flower beds, assisting the social club and making sure the building was always decorated appropriately for every special occasion and holiday. In short, she was a friend to many in her building, loved by everyone she came in contact with.
At home in Shaunavon over the years, Beverley was a pillar in her community. She was on the minor hockey board, was an active participant in her local ceramics club and volunteered her time for the Scotsguard Hall.
Her home was a lively place, where kids from throughout the neighbourhood would gather for amazing food or some of her delicious treats from the basement freezer. Everyone always felt welcome at Bev’s.
Her family was her lifeblood, whether she was following her children in their athletic endeavours or supporting her husband - Bev was always there for them with love and encouragement at every step. She also enjoyed traveling and was the life of the party on trips with her friends to Las Vegas, a family adventure to Wichita and two vacations to Hawaii, where Bev and Wayne were joined by Carol and Warren. Beverley will be missed by so many, from her close friends and family in the Shaunavon area, to her friends in the city and of course, her immediate family.
Throughout her cancer journey, so many important people helped her along the way, highlighted by the dedicated attention and care from Wayne, her sister, Carol, and her good friend Cindy Carlson and her sons Devon and Ryan.
If roses grew in heaven
Please Lord pick a bunch for us
Place them in our Mother’s arms
And tell her they are from us
Tell her we love her and miss her
When she turns to smile
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for awhile
Remembering her is easy
We do it everyday
There is ache within our hearts
That will never go away
To send flowers
to the family or plant a tree
