Bernadette Beatrice Larose

Bernie passed away on Tuesday, August 25th, 2026, with her daughter, Shannon & Kelven by her side at the age of 94 years.

Bernie was born in Rosefield, SK on March 18th, 1932. Bernie worked as a farmer’s wife, in the bakery, as a dentist assistant, homecare aid and bus driver. Bernie had a heart that was always open and a home that was always welcoming. One of the many ways she showed her love was through food. No one ever left her house hungry. Whether it was a pot of homemade soup, fresh buns or her famous Holy Night cookies, she made sure everyone was fed and cared for.

Bernie loved to keep busy. She was always crafting, creating, sewing or making something with her hands. Her creativity seemed endless and she took pride in every project she completed. She often reminded us “You can’t just sit and do nothing because your brain will dry up.” It was advice she lived by every day. Her hands and mind were always at work and she inspired everyone around her.

Bernie is survived by her sons, Maurice (Connie), Garry (Wanda), Guy (Carol); daughter, Shannon (Kelven); 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; siblings, Janet, Donna (Ernie), Donnie (Bernice), Elaine.

Bernie was predeceased by her husband, John (2023); son, Richard (1973); parents, sisters and brothers.

Bernie lived a long and beautiful life, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, creativity, humour and family traditions that will be cherished forever.

A private family graveside service will be held next spring.
