Albert George Giesinger

Albert Giesinger passed away on March 18th, 2023. Albert was born February 9th, 1939, in Holdfast, Saskatchewan to Andrew and Margaret Giesinger. The Giesinger family moved to Medicine Hat in 1948 where Albert attended St. Louis School and St. Theresa’s Academy. After graduating, Albert worked at Maple Leaf Mills for several years before moving to Calgary. He attended SAIT, graduating as an Architectural Draftsman and worked for Nu West Homes for several years before retiring to Medicine Hat in 1993 to care for his mother. He was a much-loved son, brother, uncle and friend. Albert was an avid reader of history and architecture, an intelligent and artistic man. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Agnes (Frank) Hopfauf and brother, Edmund Giesinger. He will be lovingly remembered by one sister, Matilda (Ralph) Schlinker as well as 13 nieces and nephews.

Albert’s family would like to thank Dr. Jeffrey Bratvold for the many years of excellent care. Thank you also to Dr. Monty and the wonderful staff at South Country Village for their amazing treatment and care.

The Funeral Mass will be held on March 24th, 2023, at Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (238 2 Ave NE) @ 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Albert’s name may be made to Parkinson Alberta Society - #101 928 Allowance Ave SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 3G7.
